Govt kick-starts auction of oil, gas blocks under NELP-VIII - NDTV.com

After a four-month delay, India on Saturday relaunched the first roadshow of the eighth bid round of the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP-VIII), looking to attract $3-4 billion investment.

There are 70 oil and gas blocks on offer under NELP-VIII and 10 blocks are up for grabs under the Coal Bed Methane (CBM-IV). The petroleum ministry in the next few days will meet the oil companies in Houston, London, Calgary and Perth where data centres have been opened. "We are confident that there will be a good response we have got everything in place," said R S Pandey, secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
