Shares of two oil exploration firms fell 1.39% to 1.98% at 14:46 IST, after crude declined 44 cents or 0.55% to $79.14 a barrel in Asian trading as signs of weakness in the US economy aggravated worries about the strength of the global recovery.

India's biggest state-run oil exploration firm by revenue Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) fell 1.39% to Rs 1160.10. Cairn India declined 1.98% to Rs 279.90. But, India's second biggest oil and gas exploration firm by revenue, Oil India, was flat at Rs 1210.
